Clutch Repairs
Does a pedal staying on the floor mean the clutch plate is worn out?
Hydraulic loss, a master or slave cylinder fault, a cable or the release mechanism may be involved. The pedal fault needs diagnosis.

Clutch Repairs — planning the work
For clutch repairs, the vehicle specification and condition determine suitable checks and parts. Some work needs workshop equipment, so describe the available space and the fault before confirming a mobile visit.
More questions
about this service.
What is the difference between clutch slip and drag?
They point to different checks. Slip means the clutch fails to transmit drive fully. Drag means it does not disengage fully, which can make gear selection difficult.
Can a clutch be replaced on my driveway?
Many clutch replacements are better suited to a workshop; this is confirmed before booking. Only if the vehicle, equipment and working space allow safe gearbox removal.
Will the flywheel need replacing too?
The mechanic explains what can be assessed initially and what remains unknown until the gearbox and clutch are removed. That depends on its type and condition.
What should be covered at handover?
Check agreed repairs, operation and any further mechanical findings.
